Market Information
- Kenya sees an increase in demand for electricity by both businesses and households. The country is an active participant in the regional power market in order to meet domestic demand. However frequent power outages persist in Kenya.
- Covid 19 and related issues gravely affected the energy sector by causing shortfall in the revenue and thereby increasing operating cost per MW/MWh.
- Kenya has about 17 on-grid IPPs operating.
